We noticed that this whole "Creepy Katara" think has grown a little bigger than we originally expected, and with that, many questions are being asked. We will attempt to explain the story behind Creepy Katara in order to answer some of these questions.
Where did Creepy Katara come from? Who discovered her? Is she a manipulation or actually from the show?These questions seem to be the most common, so here is the deal with Creepy Katara:
Last week,

and I were searching for screenshots of Katara on ASN to get an idea of what her recent outfit looked like. We were scanning images from the episode
The Day of Black Sun, Part 1: The Invasion when we came across some images of Katara that looked rather humorous. I ended up sharing these screenshots with

, who proceeded to do some searching for more amusing screenshots. He then IMed me with a link to an image he thought looked weird. That image of Katara was quickly named "Creepy Katara," as neither of us could look at her for too long without getting creeped out.
I shared said screenshot with

. Amused with the expression, he set about to create a certain comic of Creepy Katara that some of you were able to catch in my gallery. That comic is found
here.

uploaded his own Creepy Katara images, and one example can be seen on his webcam. Thus marked the introduction of Creepy Katara to the public (07/15/08)

expressed an interest in being able to post the image of Creepy Katara on people's accounts and in comments, and I explained that it was possible through the magic of PLZ accounts. Having never done such a thing before, I set off on a two-night mission to create the many PLZ accounts that make the giant Creepy Katara head you might have seen on various journals and in comments (Two nights because I'm a n00b). (
EDIT - Yes, I realize that the accounts have been banned, and really, I expected it from the beginning. Twenty-plus accounts to make one giant image is really unreasonable. Plus, I noticed that the image was being used in an extraordinarily annoying manner by a few people, to the point where complaints were being made. It was quite a large image, and to have a person post it several times within one area was becoming a problem
That was fun while it lasted, however. Sorry to anyone who became agitated!
)
That was a week ago, and we've all been enjoying all the images of creepiness that have been making their way through the internet

So, really, I like to give credit for starting this whole ordeal to

and

. The first original thing I did with Creepy Katara was the photo manip. But without those guys, my gallery wouldn't be half as creepy. Please shower them with 'Thank yous' and many glomps!
(If this seemed really repetitive and nonsensical, it's 'cause it's about 4:30 in the morning, and I'm sleepy

)

Question for the FAQ: can we also make that kind ID and share the weirdness?

Sokka: You want me to be like you, or totally honest?
Katara: Are you saying I'm a liar?
Sokka: I'm saying you're an optimist. Same thing basically.
